One of our neighbours keeps a few sheep so I was delighted to get into his yard to take some shots of these sweet little lambs, and their new found friends!
I must ask my neighbour why he has a number on them. I think most sheep around here have a colour splotch so that the farmers/shepherds can tell which are theirs' on common land/mountains just in case they get mixed up.
The lambs are adorable! One of my friends had a rooster who would chase their lambs and kids- I hope these little guys don't get bullied by the poultry!
There are more lambs appearing here, although it is still a few weeks until the main lambing starts. They are just so cute - especvially when they jump straight up in the air, as if they have springs in their legs!!
Oh how sweet these little lambs are. Do they number them to tell them apart???

ReplyDeleteIt looks like the number relates to the lamb and the mother Ewe.

Great shots, I think Pip, has the best answer about the numbers. Interesting.
