Noro Kureyon Sock Pattern :)

Okay... here's my new sock pattern for Noro Kureyon sock yarn using 5 dpns :)
I've adapted my original pattern (which used 4 dpns) to my new favourite method.. (using 5) and the pattern has been used on sock 2 :) with great success...

It's a plain pattern which, I feel, shows off the beauty of the yarn...

Pip's Pattern for socks using Noro Kureyon

You will need:

A set of 5 double pointed needles

Cuff and Leg

Cast on 60 sts and divide over 4 needles, 15 sts each. Join into a circle for knitting your first row, being careful not to twist
K2, P2, around
Work 15 rows of rib
Then 45 rows of stocking stitch (by knitting with sock inside out)

Heel Flap

Turn sock right side out
You have 15 sts on each of 4 needles. Needles 1 and 2 will be your heel flap

Row 1
 (30 sts across needles 1 and 2): K2, P across to last 2 stitches, k2, turn

Row 2
K2, sl 1, k1, across to last two sts, k2, turn

Repeat these two rows a total of 16 times (32 rows)

Turn Heel

Row 1: P17, p2tog, p1, turn
Row 2: Sl 1, k5, ssk, k1, turn

Row 11: Sl 1, p14, p2tog, p1, turn
Row 12: K16, ssk, k1

With sock inside out
There are 34 rows in the heel flap so pick up and knit 17 onto each heel needle
you now have 15sts on each instep (top of sock) needle and 26 on each sole (bottom of sock) needle
Knit 2 rounds and end centre bottom of sock

K30 sts across needles 2 and 3
K1, ssk, k to end of needle 4

Row 2

Repeat these two rows until you have 15 sts on all four needles

Row 1
Needle 1: Knit to last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1
Needle 2: K1, ssk, knit to end

  1. That yarn is GORGEOUS. Good call on the 5 dpns--once you go 5, you never go back. ;)

    1. Unwind the yarn until you reach the same starting color. Save the excess for some other project. All space dyed yarns have a repeat.
